Playbook FAQ > What does it do? > Can I edit rules on the command line?
YES AND THANK YOU FOR NOTICING.
Under the hood, Playbook’s engine is Subversion. It’s svn revs all the way down. If you’re authorized, you can use the industry-standard open source “svn” tool to check out a repository from Playbook and check changes back in. If you can’t get your rule editing on without a terminal window and “vi”, we have you covered.
(You don’t care about this, but so you know: it was a pain to make this work. Rules you check in via the command line should never break UI features, including search indexing.)
